“The central mission of the Wolfeboro Area Recreation Association is to provide recreational opportunities for both children and adults that enhance quality of life and incorporate and support community values. WARA does so by planning, constructing and overseeing recreational facilities as exemplified by the Nicholas J. Pernokas Park, which it will manage in perpetuity in service to all throughout the Lakes Region.”

The 7th Annual Nickfest, a fundraising event for the Wolfeboro Area Recreation Association, will be held Saturday, July 13th on Monument Field in downtown Wolfeboro from 10:00 AM to 2 PM. This is a change of location from The Nick Recreation Park to Main Street.
Come bring your family and join your friends, neighbors and visitors at what promises to be an exciting and fun event. You will enjoy great games including a Climbing Wall, 4-Way Bungee Trampolines, Vertical Rush, Wrecking Ball, Moebius Combo, the Wrecking Ball and Castle Bounce House. Come and laugh at those brave enough to sit at the Dunk Tank, let your youngsters pet animals at the Traveling Barnyard, get your picture taken in the Photo Booth, and more! There will food booths where such items as hamburgers, hotdogs, water, soft drinks, and chips can be purchased.
Get in the spirit of the 2013 Nickfest’s Western Theme as you are entertained by The Crunchy Western Boys, a N.H. folk and bluegrass band, featuring mandolin, bass fiddle, guitar, bango and vocals who will play throughout the day’s event. The band was recognized in 2011 as 2011’s Best NH Americana Band. Band members are singer/songwriter Morris Manning, fiddler extraordinaire Jacob Stern, bass fiddler and backup singer Steve McBrian, and mandolin and guitar player Jim McHugh. They have released CDs, including “Crunchy Western Boys” and “Rumorville.”
