With heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved founding board member, Thomas O’Brien. Tom’s vibrant and infectious spirit inspired those around him, rallied a community to action, and paved the way for creating The Nick, our cherished 32-acre park. Through his leadership, we witnessed the power of enthusiasm and its impact on making dreams a reality. The Nick stands today as a testament to Tom’s vision, determination, and joyful nature.
In Tom’s memory, we will plant trees at the park entrance and install a granite bench next to O’Brien Field, a field Tom and his family generously donated to when the park was built. These gestures serve as lasting tributes to a remarkable individual who shaped our community for the better.
To honor Tom’s memory, his family has kindly requested that donations be made to The Nick in lieu of flowers. Your contributions will continue Tom’s legacy of creating spaces where people of all ages can come together for recreation and playing.
